M&J House

When designing M&J, the architect target was to actualize the simplified Mediterranean architectural design as requested by the clients. Hence, the architect decided to use simple blocks of masses to create the house’s shape.

Furthermore, to reduce the usage of air conditioning, the house is oriented to the south, so that the intense sunlight impacts a smaller surface of the facade.

Natural bright coloured cement, local cream marble, and dark local iron wood all from Lombok, Bali, and other parts of Indonesia were chosen to live up the feel.

The 4-bedroom-house to be tropically comfortable and sustainable, so we designed the spaces to be completely open with some screens for shades and to provide cross ventilation for the entire house.

With its amazing south facing ocean view, this house is also surrounded by lush green scenery locating in Lombok high-end residential development, Tampah Hills.
