‘Mystique residence’ designed by ASRO Arcade is an exquisitely crafted house that aims to find equilibrium between luxury & earthiness. The extraordinary residence follows a unique concept of modern classicism for clients who wanted something visually stunning while also having their own identity. The overarching theme was that of modern classic elements, hence Team ASRO had used stone & pop-molding with rose glass, as it’s extremely trendy whilst being aesthetically pleasing. Additionally, the client also called for a distinctive style that was in vogue, as a consequence, this residence became a compendium of remarkable design with distinct elements put together.
Facade designs keep getting better with new updates introduced by computer software, immersive reality, and smart buildings. The facade of this residence allows the building to project the architects’ creative intent and sets the ideal design tone. To give the building an artistic finish, a custom perforated matrix was used with various color options. Breaking the traditional concept of surfaces, Laminam is a revolutionary new way to skin architectural surfaces. A full-body Italian porcelain slab which is exclusively large in size with minimum thickness has been used for the first-floor box finish. Natural stone was also used for cladding from the first to top floor & on the right-hand side, dark conceptual elements were used to make contrast in the environment. The use of MS c-section for the main gate coupled with concrete finish HPL can also be seen.
When a person enters the house, funky stone sculptures on the staircase form a gorgeous first impression. Immediately after the staircase, a murti of Lord Ganesha in the foyer with a gorgeous mirrored background on a magnificent high-table in the shape of a “W”, greets the visitors. The first living room located on the ground floor has a neutral color palette with a focus put on browns, blacks, and creams. Plush inviting sofa made of leather, decorated with throw pillows of multiple sizes & throw blankets makes it a bespoke area for kicking back & relaxing. Wooden planks consist of the ceiling and a modern, pop-art style chandelier adorns the ceiling along with cove lighting to illuminate the room. Concrete and marble wall paneling, in addition to a tropical-inspired rug with the color palette of the room, enhances the aura of the area. Decor in the form of golden vases, candle holders, and a tiny new-age globe can be seen on various surfaces of the room like in niches of the coffee table. The finishing touch for the room seems to be the floor-to-ceiling glass doors that lead to a balcony outside.
Traversing the first floor, it comprises the second drawing-room, the bedroom, the study, and the kitchen. The drawing room is fit for royalty as aristocratic colors like emerald green, and navy blue have been used extensively. Additionally, kitschy knick-knacks have been placed on a delicately ornate gold-plated coffee table. Candles in glass holders or a deer printed on a white ceramic background accompanying the candles make for a gorgeously scented room. Armchairs with french floral upholstery and couches cladded in velvet are a signature of ASRO Arcade as it exudes a luxurious vibe. An abstract zebra-patterned rug, as well as prints put on the wall, ties the room together with warm wall lighting fixtures. The cherry on top of the cake is the fireplace set in front of a black marble wall to give the room an uber regal feel. Crossing over to the bedroom, a subtle color palette of greys has been used with wooden accents given to the entire room. A mounted TV across the bed makes the room extremely comfortable. Lastly, cove lighting and marble floors ensure that the feeling of opulence never goes away. When talking about the bathroom, it consists of marble and cutting-edge amenities that don’t leave any room for error or want to have anything more. Like all functional study rooms, the study room in this house is minimal yet highly utilitarian.
Marble flooring and glass partitions give it a feel of being simple but having all the things a person needs while working or studying there. Two words can be used to describe the kitchen – sleek and stylish. Marble cabinets, glass display cases, and white drawers give the kitchen user plenty of storage space. Again, the latest appliances like the refrigerator and microwave ovens have been installed to ensure ease of use. Of course, the dining area accompanies the kitchen. A long and elegant dining table made of marble placed along a cracked and geometric double-height wall makes the area look more open. A skylight with a chandelier can also be seen when a person looks directly up from the dining table.
The second and final floor consists of bedrooms. The first bedroom talked about has brown as the dominant color – with marble walls and a wooden floor along with side tables and table lamps make the room look very chic. A pop of color in slight yellow and light grey can be seen in the rug. The crowning glory of the room is the bed, with a tufted headboard and a footboard to make the room look bigger than it already is. Touches of color in navy blue are present in terms of the bedspread and the pillows. The other room on the second floor has a pre-French revolution vintage vibe to it that makes it look mind-blowing. A color palette of creams and sandy browns are present in the room, with a mounted TV opposite the bed, and an ornate table in front of the bed to give it another dimension to the room. Lastly, a sleigh-shaped bed-frame adds that extra oomph to the bedroom.
The key design requirements of this Gurugram residence were to offer the space, luxury, and ambiance of a private residence, and the functionality, convenience, and comfort of a modern apartment. ASRO Arcade painstakingly designed the house with the utmost care & paid extreme attention to details.
