Gatehouse is a building located in Boston, MA with an area of 25,000 SF and was completed in 2007. The building has six LEED-certified floors covering a mix of retail, residential and institutional uses for Project Place.
Project Place is a nonprofit agency working to train and transition Boston’s homeless into permanent workforce and housing. The project includes 14 SRO housing units and a ground-level restaurant Myers + Chang in a historic site and symbolic of Boston’s original city gate.
The exterior is dominated by light brown and beige colors. The brown color of the neatly laid out exposed red bricks is combined with the bright beige that frames the large glass in the corner of the building.
The top floor is given an interesting detail when viewed from outside the building. Namely a window that juts out in gray directly above the building’s entrance.
